Mark Pitman is an accomplished Software Architect, Programmer, Semi-Professional Tournament Poker player (not necessarily in that order). Having over 15 years of experience in the software industry, Pitman is knowledgeable in the current aspects of IT, including software methodologies, design patterns, computer languages, databases, and "best practices".
For the last 10+ years, Pitman has been writing software mostly using Java/J2EE with Oracle databases on a Unix platform in a corporate environment. Never one to rest with a limited number of tools/languages, Pitman also regularly uses Open Source tools such as: Postgresql, Eclipse, php, Apache, MySql, JBOSS, C/C++, Perl, Open LDAP, Bind, Postfix, Courier IMAP on a Linix distribution.
As for poker, you can find Pitman playing Omaha Hi/Low Split, Stud High/Low Split and No Limit Texas Hold em in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. And he is always on the lookout for a regular home game, which are harder to find than one might believe.
